Additional defendants: Charles Hubard, Amelia Burgess, O. O. Burgess, John Rhinesminth, J. H. Simonson, Jelen F. Fleming, M. Fleming, G. F. McKine, W. M. McKine, C. S. Dinnen, J. M. Dinnen, H. G. Furman, A. B. Furman, M. E. Willien, L. J Willien and Luke Fleming. Both parties entered into a contract to sell a large amount of land. Plaintiff found a buyer for the land and was to receive commission for the sale. Plaintiff was seeking the money due to him from the sale of the land as the contract stated.

Addtl dfnts: Dr. William Morrow, Frank C. Morrow, W. C. Dibbrell, Lewis T. Baxter, Jas. B. Richardson, Jas. H. Yarbrough, Wm. Duncan, E. B. Criddle, M. T. Bryan, Russell Duncan, H. W. Buttorff, T. O. Morris, C. H. Sharpe, and J. H. Thomas. Deaderick was a share holder of the Nashville and Edgefield Street R.R. Co. before it grew into dfnt. co. Despite claims of fraudulent contracts, the stocks of the initial company were never paid out or recognized before stocks of the various companies were consolidated.

View Entry 1893 Joseph Ruohs v. Third National Bank of Chattanooga, et al. Hamilton Breach of Trust

Ruohs purchased 22 bonds of $1k each issued by the town of Athens, in order to by shares of $22k in stock in the Nashville & Tellico Railroad Company, meant to mature in 20 years. Ruohs accuses bank officers John A. Hart, William H. Hart, and W. E.Baskett of selling bonds which they knew to be faulty, insolvent, and possibly invalid. See additional case of Joseph Ruohs v. View Entry 1893 McDonald, Shea & Co., et al. v. Charleston, Cincinnati & Chicago Railroad Co., et al. Knox Breach of Contract

Multi-volume case. More of case in ET 2007 & ET 2054. Other Pltf.: William Kenefick. Other deft.: Massachusetts & Southern Construction Company. Railroad contracted with Mass. & Southern to build tracks from Charleston to the Ohio River using bonds to generate payment. Pltf filed a lien on the tracks constructed in TN to clarify how much debt they owed and to settle the debt through liquidated damages. Exhibits include detailed payments, billing, and depositions.

View Entry 1893 S. C. Dodge v. F. H. Allison Hamblen Breach of Contract

The plaintiff made a contract with the defendant in which the plaintiff was to install electrical fixtures. He claimed that he had not been paid, so he was seeking compensation for the work. Added 10 pages to this total from a case found in old Box ET 1625. The addition's style name is F. H. Allison v. John Skillern, Sheriff

View Entry 1893 State, ex rel. v. The Buena Vista Turnpike Co. Davidson Breach of Contract

State ex rel for: J. F. Singer, William Singer, and Uriah Peebles. Buena Vista Turnpike Co. was assigned to construct a road and toll houses on a route leading from NW end of Spruce St., across the Cumberland River, to a point on White's Creek Turnpike. They were also permitted to build and operate a ferry boat across the river. They had not built the road until well after the expected due date of said project. Oversize map showing area in question located in MT OV 10.
