View Entry 1899 First National Bank of Rockwood & C. E Hamlin v. The Teutonia Insurance Co. Hamilton Breach of Contract

Incomplete file; opinion only. Hamlin bought policy from Teutonia to insure himself and the bank of Rockwood against fire damages not more than $500, but the policy had many stipulations. For instance, if any insurance over that coverage amount were purchased without notifying Teutonia, the policy would become void.

View Entry 1899 Lela W. White v. J. R. Harber et al. Gibson Breach of Contract

The plaintiff is a school teacher sued for her contracted salary after the school was closed by the directors during the school year. She was paid for the time she was actually teaching, but says, since she stayed there, "ready and willing to teach," the terms of her contract should be upheld. Harber and a man named John Rodgers are the only remaining members of the school board. Folder includes two briefs.

Thomas Payne and Thomas H. Williams entered into a contract in which Payne purchased one-third interest in gin and mill machinery on the Neshoba [Nashoba?] Plantation. Case involves money due on insurance and notes. Brads were not removed because of the possibility of damage to the documents.
