Margaret Thane took out a policy for her life in the amount of two thousand dollars with the Supreme Hive of the Ladies of the Maccabees of the World. Shortly before her death they claimed that her age had been misstated on her application. They claimed her membership was void unless she could prove her age. She and other members of her family submitted affidavits proving her birth date was correct. On her death they submitted their claim and were denied the money.
