View Entry 1933 J. P. Jolley v. Milwaukee Mechanics Insurance Co. Hamilton Insurance Claims and Policies

Jolley's insured building was allegedly completely destroyed by fire. Upon investigation by his insurance company, the Milwaukee Mechanics Insurance Co., the damage was found not to be a total loss. Jolley sued to prove that the building was damaged beyond use and to recoup the difference.

W. M. Willhoite sold a house to Morris. He also transferred his insurance policy from the defendant company to Morris. The house burned down, and the defendant co. claimed that Morris did not submit the paperwork on time to receive benefits. The plaintiffs here sued.

Gladys Corinne Leiker was concussed, and had two inch cut above her eye. Additionally, she damaged her elbow. Although her insurance policy was meant to pay her $80 a month, they refused to recognize she was disabled. Her medical records state clearly that she was unable to work and was disabled.

Green was representing Leona Kimball, Benton Kimball, Garner Kimball, & Guy Kimball (all minor children of LeVert Kimball, dec.). Other defendants: Washington Life Insurance Company. Mary was LeVert's 3rd wife & step-mother to children. LeVert took out $3000 insurance policy with Mary & his children listed as beneficiaries. Children were suing to prevent Mary from taking all of the money.

The Fidelity Casualty Co. issued an insurance policy to The Lookout Iron Co. which covered any damages resulting from the explosion of any of its seven steam boilers. One of the boilers did burst and Fidelity refused to pay.
