E. F. Campbell and his wife had a contract on the sale of Barker's farm in Bradley County. Mr. Gordon was a tenant on the farm, & he had a disagreement with Mr. Hillard who lived on adjoining property, Campbell was inclined to evict Gordon. Barker's family moved into the farmhouse with the Gordons until they moved out. However the Barkers were unhappy that the Gordons had not vacated the house at the time the Barkers moved in. |

Mr. Marks of the advertising company hired Hansler to distribute to and post signs in railroad depots at Millington, Memphis, Capleville, and other unnamed locations in Tenn. The company claimed it was exempt from state taxation because the signs were printed in St. Louis. Because the company did not file a foreign charter w/the state, which was illegal, it said that the Hansler contract was invalid. Federal interstate commerce laws were violated. |

The Memphis Paper Box Co. made her an offer for employment, and after relocation to Memphis and service, she was discharged 6 May 1905. Lawsuit to recover damages for the breach of contract. |

Had contracted with the county to grade, widen & maintain in good condition roads in the 4th Civil Dist.; plaintiff was to provide his own equipment, but would be paid $218 for his services out of the county road fund. County has not paid plaintiff the agreed upon sum, arguing that he is not entitled to the money as he failed to keep the roads in good condition as stipulated in the contract. |
