View Entry 1849 A. G. Low v. Elisha Sizemore Sevier Trespass and Damages

Response to another bill in which A.G. Low sued damages against E. Sizemore for dogging and killing two hogs, the property of said Low. The judgment was in favor of Low for one dollar plus court costs, but Low believed the judgment was unfair due to the damage done by Sizemore.

View Entry 1860 Aaron H. Shamblin v. Joseph Delozier Sevier Contract Dispute and Damages

Plaintiff entered into an agreement with the defendant to purchase a tract of land from him and pay for it in carpentry work. Plaintiff claims that he built the defendant a house as payment for the land but the defendant refused to give title. Defendant claims the contract was never signed and thus is could not be enforced.

Watson is seeking damages as the result of an automobile accident. Watson's car was struck by a car operated by Roy Denton who Watson says was driving carelessly. He alleges $500 in damages to car and $140 in incidental damages for loss of the use car. Watson's car was an almost new Chevrolet Iandau Sedan but was wrecked beyond repair. Plaintiff Gass sued Mitchell for $10,000 in damages for the wrongful death of his son, Ottis H. Gass, about 4 years old. The child died from wounds suffered when one of the defendant's two bears mauled the boy in the defendants back yard where the bears were chained in Sevierville near the public square.

The plaintiff sued the defendant for $10,000 in damages for the wrongful injury and death of Ottis H. Gass, age 4 or 5, as the result of a bear attack in Sevierville in September 1888. The bears belonged to the defendant who lived near the public square and had two bears chained in his backyard near his smokehouse.
