Kutsche Company did not pay McWhorter his total wage for work done on a Knoxville post office, totaling $108. However, he is accused of working at the rate of thirty cents an hour, then after the job was complete asking for a higher wage for work paid and completed. American Trust sued Nashville Abstract for damages as a result of the defendant supplying them with a supposedly false and defective abstract of title to lands in sub-division that resulted in title issues following sale to individual buyers of lots.

J.W. Carroll, W.C. McCallum, defendants, applied for line of credit, $3,000 to $4,000, to be used if needed, with promise to ship cotton to complainant in case of failure to ship or pay commissions; agreement to ship cotton to complainant in St. Louis, MO Dispute over agreed compensation. Oral contract were entered with both of the respondents upon the assumption that the said buisness would be operated as a partnership business. They opended up a service station called Strickler Service Station, but it was abanonded by 1931. Complainants say that the respondents are indebted to them for $1105. 51. Defendants bought the store outright and agreed to settle all debts and liabilities. Plaintiffs charge that defendants failed to do so. Case is in 4 folders.

Incomplete case. Briefs only. The Allison Lumber Co. furnished defendant with lumber under special contract for use in the building of a house on her property. All the lumber was contracted for and furnished prior to an execution of a deed of trust to W.A. Sadd and Taylor Durham, trustees, to secure a loan from the Chattanooga Savings Bank & Trust Co., except $134.56 worth. The plaintiff sought to hold def. to the contract made on her behalf by her husband as her agent.

Plaintiff: American Laundry Machinery Co., a corp. from Cincinnati, OH. Defendants: Robert M. McInturff, Thomas W. Lawson, d/b/a Erwin Laundry Co. or Erwin Steam Laundry, and Mrs. Jennie Clark. Disputed contract of 21 June 1916, company sold laundry firm in Erwin, laundry machinery in amount and value of $1,455.25. With additional items, total: $1,492.90. Court decision appealed to Supreme Court @ Knoxville.

Cause of Action: Worker's Comp. case.

Deals with "re-insurance." The 2 companies referred to are the Arlington Insurance Co. and the Citizens Insurance Co. This is only an additional brief to a case. Boyd and Sims's first names are not mentioned.

The plaintiff was employed by the defendant and was seriously injured on the job.

Stam was acting as a Trustee, selling the goods of Luban & Fredkin. Carhanan was the winning bidder, but did not pay for the goods. Stam sued to recover the $1500 lost when goods had to be sold a second time plus costs, for a total of $2000. Includes a hard bound journal book listed as Exhibit "C".

Add. Plaintiffs:G.L. Harris, M.S. Kaggs, & Nancy Journey. Add. Defendants: John Childress & A.J. Taylor. W.A. Childress appointed guardian of J. Kaggs' heirs with J. Childress & Taylor as securities over bond. Defendants were administrators over other children in the family that passed before the case. Plaintiffs state that W.A. Childress held personal and real estate property from the surviving heirs, including misrepresenting rental profits. Also fighting to make Beasley guardian.

Additional defendant: George T. Lewis, Rec. of the State and President of the railroad. Plaintiffs: James B. Cross, W. B. Cross, & C. Parker. Bradley & Harrell was contracted with President and Directors of RR to build a depot & station house for said company. Plaintiffs claimed the defendant did not pay them for their work an that they are entitled to a lien as mechanics on the said lot of ground and buildings for their work, labor, and materials furnished.
