Defendants traded as merchants under the firm name of N.B. Brockman &Co. Additional Defendants traded under the firm name of Gentry & Co. Plaintiff alleged that defendants were indebted to them for merchandise sold and delivered. Additional Defendants: Martin B. Gentry, Gentry & Co.

Complainants are a wholesaler, defendant a retailer. Complainants sued to recover an outstanding debt on Hunter's account for $211.25. Defendant asserted it was his wife who owed, and she died months before this trial started.

The Bank was seeking money from the defendants for money loaned. Reason for loan was not stated.

Driver was awarded two judgements, totalling $39.18 in damages, against the defendants in court in the county. Defendants have yet to pay, and were even granted a bona status despite a full stand of corn and tobacco crops, which the complaintant asserted was enough to repay the court-ordered debt.

Plea of debt due by account under $500. Defendants are engaged in a sawmill & lumber business in Lake Cormorant, Mississippi. Judgment for plaintiff in sum of $114.48.

Additional defendant The East Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia Railroad Co. The plaintiff stated he was due money for a car load of lumber that was valued at $156.00.

Stephens. Plaintiffs claim that a judgment in a previous case rendered against the def. R. Stephens has not yet been paid. Plaintiffs further complain that R. Stephens has fraudulently transferred property to his son, F. S. Stephens in order to avoid paying said judgment.

Additional plaintiffs John F. Lofton. Additional defendants J. B. Ragon and East Chatanooga Land Company. Plaintiff was seeking the money owed to them from the defendant for the use of materials. The East Chatanooga Land Company filed a Demurrer stating that they should not be included in the original case as they were not part of the orginial bill.

The defendant in error and his wife are musicians. They purchased a piano from the plaintiff in error but later refused to pay the notes due to defects in the instrument. The piano was then repossessed by the defendant, causing the plaintiff to file suit for damages.

Debt on an account of $2039.76

Greenfield was variously written as Greenfeild. Napier was listed as the admr. "de bonis non cum testament annexo" of Mrs. R. B. Napier. Before her demise, dfnt was indebted to Mrs. Napier in the amount of $1,130. Pltf Napier sued to recover said amount and interest.

J. C. French and W. P. Gillentine purchased a stock of groceries and merchandise from Lacy and issued several notes as payment. Lacy then transferred said notes to Phillips, Jackson and Co. as collateral for another debt. The notes were later put into the hands of Thomas Ellis who brought suit in the name of Phillips, Jackson and Co. for payment. Plaintiffs believe Ellis has no title to the notes and are seeking an injunction.

Additional defendant: A. W. Stockell. Stockell signed notes to Plaintiff in the amount of $1,000, and has not paid the promised amount, despite having inherited the funds to pay. Housed in 2 folders.

Additional Defendant: F. W. Cox (a constable of Obion County).

Add def: Thomas Vanness, Leona Vanness, and R. E. Dorsey. Gipson also spelled Gibson. The pla. sold a lot and house located in the town of Sewanee, Tennessee to R. E. Dorsey. After the sale E. D'Armale made several repairs to said house for which R. E. Dorsey executed a note. D'Armale later sold said note to the plaintiff. When the note became due, Dorsey could not pay it and noted that the house actually belonged to her daughter Leona. Pla. is seeking the sale of the house to satisfy the debt.

Additional plaintiffs: J. M. Muse, and W. A. McDaniel. Plaintiffs bring suit to recover debt due by the defendant. Plaintiffs note that the defendant offered them $25 if they would arrest Sarah Looney who was wanted for the murder of the defendant's aunt, Mrs. H. C. Arington. Plaintiffs complain that upon arresting Looney, the defendant refused to pay the agreed upon reward.

Additional defendant The First National Bank of Chattanooga, Ella C. Reid, Campbell and Co., The Loomis and Hart Co., G. W. Derickson, and Chattanooga Lumber Co. The plaintiff and defendant were in business together and the business began to fail. The parties could not agree on a settlement. The plaintiff was asking the court to help close the business and state that they must sell off the all the property to pay off debt and stock holders.

Additional plaintiffs: Maury, Dibbrell and Co., and Franstine Bros. and Co. Additional defendant: J. M. Gilmore. Plaintiffs are wholesale merchants located in Nashville, Tennessee and Cincinnati, Ohio and sold to Cartwright goods, wares, and merchandise for sale at his "red flag," retail merchandise business located in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Plaintiffs complain that Cartwright's accounts remain due and accuse him of making a general assignment to Gilmore in order to defeat and defraud them.

Other defendants: Ragland Collins & Co. (F. B. Ragland Jr. & H. G. D. Collins) and Charles S. Taliaferro. Folder includes one legal brief. Case involves a complex series of steps for repayment of a earlier debt, based on the findings of a previous court.

The plntff., admr. of John Burns (decd. intestate Sept. 1890), sued the defts. to collect $933.63 which he alleged the defts. had defrauded Burns out of in the sale of some land for him. Carr charged that Love had taken from Burns an option on the lands & had intentionally misled Burns regarding the option's terms. Defts. sold the land for $40 an acre, realizing $1540.00, but accounted to Burns for only $577.50 which was $15 per acre minus a 5% commission.
