In 1865 Abbey was awarded a judgement against Paul for $950. The Sherriff found a lot Paul's land that he sold to pay the judgment the following September. Abbey was the highest bidder at the auction, & the debt was struck off. However, Paul never exe- cited a deed to Abbey. They also found that it had been previously levied and sold on a debt to John Goss. Abbey sued to recover the deed or the debt. |

James Head, trustee for Mechanics Savings Bank and Trust Company, the City Savings Bank, and the Commercial National Bank, claimed that defendant William Moore executed a trust deed to the complainants upon real estate in Nashville for the purpose of taking loans out from the banks. Head requested that because Moore owed money on loans and failed to pay taxes and insurance on the property, the property should be sold to pay back debts to the complainants, liens, taxes, and insurance. |

Dispute related to land on Mulherrin Creek of Caney Fork in Smith County. Fitch Randolph and Daniel Hytton had supposedly owned the land but did not have title. Hughes had been in possession of the land since 1801 and John Orange had also lived on it. John Haywood was the chancellor in this case. The quantity of land (320 acres) did not fit the description that Hytton had given to Hughes. Also it was disclosed that Robert Douglas had a better title to the land. |

Thomas Brandon was clerk of the court and LeRoy Pope was chief justice of Madison County, AL in 1820. The warrant had been in the name of Martin Armstrong and in dispute. |
