In 1865 Abbey was awarded a judgement against Paul for $950. The Sherriff found a lot Paul's land that he sold to pay the judgment the following September. Abbey was the highest bidder at the auction, & the debt was struck off. However, Paul never exe- cited a deed to Abbey. They also found that it had been previously levied and sold on a debt to John Goss. Abbey sued to recover the deed or the debt. |

Juliet, Charles Sr. & Gertrude Sr. were all dec. leaving their children as beneficiaries both of whom were under 21. Provision in deed allows trustee to sell land to pay off debts. |

He asked the court to issue a writ of possession & to appoint a receiver to take charge of the crop. |
