John Presly, Jonathan Thomas, Jacob Baring , and Miranda Baring held possession of a tract of land, then Estess took possession of the land in 1849. Brown was a tenant of Baring and paid rent, and Estess rented from Baring in 1862. Apparently Estess attempted to take ownership of the land but had no deed, and was ejected. |

Not all of the bequests were paid from the estate, and the suit suggests selling some of the widow's life estate to fulfill the bequests. |

Bugg then moved into the property, so the landlord, Ezekiel Norris, is also a principal figure in the case. |

Nancy Fauts was paid by McConnell to occupy land in the Ocoee district in 1837 until he legally had rights to it. John Kennedy tried to take possession, but was not entitled- because Fauts had occupied the land, McConnell had legal possession. The property had a cabin described as "very small . . . w/ no floor . . . No chimney to it_ there was no regular door, but there was a small opening at some distance off from the ground." The cabin was formerly a hen house or corn crib. |
