George Michie was accused of trespassing on Alexander McMullin's land and ejecting his lessee. McMullin sued for $500 damages.

Case also involves charges of trespass and a land dispute.

Wilson Shadden ceased land belonging to George Hinckle. Case was recorded with plaintiff and defendants as John Den and Richard Fen.

Wardin sued to recover a tract of land in Lincoln County unlawfully occupied by the defendants. The land was previously owned by Henry Moore, dec. He also owned 12 enslaved people named: Mary, Solomon, Emaline, Rachel, Leah, Anderson, Green, Eliza, Hannah , Lucy, Amanda, Eglatine. Not all of the bequests were paid from the estate, and the suit suggests selling some of the widow's life estate to fulfill the bequests.

Defendants include Henry Sweeney, Samuel Williams, John A. Taliafero, Mary Randall, John R. Randall.

Additional witnesses: Thomas W. Duncan, James Parker, Thomas Patterson, Andrew Patterson of Bedford, Joseph Collins. Judge: Nathaniel W. Williams, 3rd Judicial Circuit. Case sought to clarify ownership of acreage at headwaters of Hickman's Creek & Caney Fork River. Also, tract of land, 434 acres in name of Anthony Hart. Land for action is in reality at Hilton's Creek, some miles distant.

The charge reads: "With force and arms she broke and entered the close of the said John Den and ejected him therefrom, to his damage of five hundred dollars." (Note: this case is mentioned in Robert J. Nelson v. William Griffin et al.) Additional Defendants: Richard Fen, who apparently did the actual removing of Den. Bugg then moved into the property, so the landlord, Ezekiel Norris, is also a principal figure in the case.

Other defendants: William V. Price, Samuel James, Abner Stokes. The arguments concern who has legal title to the land in question. Two notes attached to the case (included) state that the case maybe related to Evans, Price, James,Stokes v. Jones, in old box no. 51; and that someone borrowed a page (which included part of a newspaper) from this folder and apparently never returned it, since no such page is present.

Gill & Williams were accused of attempting to remove Den from his land leased from Thomas Whiteside. Survey contradictions on land grants added to the disagreements of the parties. Names mentioned: Jacythinia Copeland Mary Copeland, Jacob F. Fort , & Jesse Bean.

Melone sued the Deboes, or Debow couple for ejectment off of property he laid claim to, although the chain of title reflects another story. Suit was filed to lawfully settle the land ownership.

Nancy Fauts was paid by McConnell to occupy land in the Ocoee district in 1837 until he legally had rights to it. John Kennedy tried to take possession, but was not entitled- because Fauts had occupied the land, McConnell had legal possession. The property had a cabin described as "very small . . . w/ no floor . . . No chimney to it_ there was no regular door, but there was a small opening at some distance off from the ground." The cabin was formerly a hen house or corn crib.

This case involves the possession of a mule.
