Andrew Jackson was a prominent Tennessee politician and military figure and the 7th President of the United States. Colonel Andrew Erwin was a supporter of William Crawford and long-time rival of Jackson's who once agreed to a duel with him. Contains items signed by Jackson, John Overton, and William Blount. Case appears to revolve around a large acreage of land Jackson owns.

Lieberman, Loveman, and O'Brien is a partnership composed of Simon Lieberman, Adolph Loveman, and Andrew W. O'Brien.

The interior of the file noted both men were colored. Complaintant was the son of the defendant, both men went in to purchase a plot of land in "Haslams Plan" on Warren St. Defendant asserted he only wanted the right to quarry for rock on the plot, and afterward would give his share to plaintiff. Plaintiff had recently found his father did not put the deed in both of their names nor signed the land over after quarrying was complete. Complaintant has lived in a house on the plot for 6 years.

Incomplete case file. Decree only. Leroy & Caroline Coleman sold and conveyed a lot in Davidson County to Robert Lusk, as trustee. This lot belonged to the estate of Thomas D. Coleman, under decree in case of John Reed v. David McGavock et als. in November 1849. Part of the lot in question was originally purchased from Thomas D. Coleman, deceased.

Case also includes disputes over debt and property.

Connected to case James M. Murrell & others v. W. L. Nance, et al. Addtl dfnts: M. P. Cooper and W. L. Nance. W.L Nance held a large plot of land that was court ordered to be divided due to Nance's indebtedness. All plots but one were purchased by C. W. Nance, who paid taxes and maintained all plots. Despite words confirming C.W.'s eventual ownership of the last plot, W. L. has made a deed of sale to dfnt., his son-in-law. Housed in 3 folders.

Plaintiffs administrator of Enoch Cunningham, dec. July 1872, Northern sold and conveyed to the deceased an deed for land in Davidson County. The land was $3850 of which $850 was paid in cash and the remaining $3000 was to be paid by promissory notes. Enoch died intestate on May 22, 1874 before he could finish the payments. Northern placed a lien on the land until the rest of the money was paid.

The original bill was filed July 1872. Additional plaintiffs: S. M. Whiteside, Ella McGavock, more+ In 1847 David McGavock conveyed to the NHS a parcel of land for $1,100 for the purpose of a garden for stockholders. After 70 years it reverted back. Located near the McGavock Plan north of Nashville, the land was eventually used as a dance and beer hall. Plaintiffs were heirs and sued to recover the land after 70 years. Additional defendants: Nannie B. Noel and W.H. Washington. Defendants had conveyed tracts of land containing about 76 acres to Washington for $11385 to be paid in two notes and lien retained until payment. Washington sold lands to E.T. Noel who promised in deed to pay the other note made by Washington for $5692.55 for L.G. Noel. E.T. Noel charged L.G. Noel for not reinvesting said sum in real estate for Nannie B. Noel as required by terms and conditions and his title be decreed good.

Additional Defendants: Martha Thompson, and the Nashville Building and Loan Association. Case also involves a debt dispute over wages worked. Exhibits include newspaper clippings.

This case concerns an action of ejectment in order to recover a lot in Davidson County. The land originally belonged to Daniel Cameron, who died in 1854 and the deed was assigned to John Coltart. French claimed the lot deed was given to him by Coltart in March 1864 and resists the claims of the defendants on several grounds. Gen. Robert Irwin died leaving a large estate including land,etc. in North Carolina and land in Tennessee. Some of the land was in the processof being conveyed to James Moore. The suit was filed to settle the land sale. Exhibits include extensive will detailing the contents of Irwin's house and estate.

In 1860 John Martin executed a deed of trust to Childress, mortgaging multiple large lots of land in East Nashville. There was a clerical error in the filing, and one of the land holders died before the deed was completed. Martin sued on the behalf of Martin, whom Childress owed money from this land sale.
