In 1866 land belonging to Andrew Castleman located in the 11 Civil District of Davidson County was equally divided amongst his twelve heirs. In 1893 pla. brought suit complaining that W. L. Nance was falsely claiming ownership of said land. Casefile notes William A. Nance was confined to the State Insane Asylum in Nashville for 16 years prior to the trial. |

Complaintant was the son of the defendant, both men went in to purchase a plot of land in "Haslams Plan" on Warren St. Defendant asserted he only wanted the right to quarry for rock on the plot, and afterward would give his share to plaintiff. Plaintiff had recently found his father did not put the deed in both of their names nor signed the land over after quarrying was complete. Complaintant has lived in a house on the plot for 6 years. |

Plaintiffs administrator of Enoch Cunningham, dec. July 1872, Northern sold and conveyed to the deceased an deed for land in Davidson County. The land was $3850 of which $850 was paid in cash and the remaining $3000 was to be paid by promissory notes. Enoch died intestate on May 22, 1874 before he could finish the payments. Northern placed a lien on the land until the rest of the money was paid. |

The original bill was filed July 1872. Additional plaintiffs: S. M. Whiteside, Ella McGavock, more+ In 1847 David McGavock conveyed to the NHS a parcel of land for $1,100 for the purpose of a garden for stockholders. After 70 years it reverted back. Located near the McGavock Plan north of Nashville, the land was eventually used as a dance and beer hall. Plaintiffs were heirs and sued to recover the land after 70 years. Noel who promised in deed to pay the other note made by Washington for $5692.55 for L.G. Noel. E.T. Noel charged L.G. Noel for not reinvesting said sum in real estate for Nannie B. Noel as required by terms and conditions and his title be decreed good. |

Mulherin contracted Elijah Roberston to survey a land he was granted. As payment Mulherin agreed to give Robertson one of the granted tracts. Robertson then died & the land was given to his daughter, Patsy who married W. L. Hannum. The suit sought to clarify the ownership of the land, & to pay off any remaining debts due for the land. |

In 1860 John Martin executed a deed of trust to Childress, mortgaging multiple large lots of land in East Nashville. There was a clerical error in the filing, and one of the land holders died before the deed was completed. Martin sued on the behalf of Martin, whom Childress owed money from this land sale. |
