Hogan and Wolfe in case over Daniel Crawley's estate won against Crawley's heirs to sell lands to pay debts. Greer thought he had bought 583 acres for $1250 when he only bought about 316 acres. Greer wants the judge to stop defendants from collecting money until title of land is made full and complete, and not pay the $2.14 an acre for 268 acres for which plaintiffs did not have title for. |

Gardenshire, & grandpa of Caldonie (Susan's dau), died in Chattanooga in 1840, owning slaves & land (subject of dispute). Caldonie says Wm left will in which he freed slaves & left property to Susan for life, remainder to her children, but after Wm died, George & others concealed will from Susan & her children. Many yrs later, Susan & Caldonie became aware of will & filed suit. See related case: ET Box 79 (circuit ct). |
