The defendant was a clerk of Cocke, the man to which Williams was indebted. The issue of this case was brought up when a disagreement of when the remaining $1,000 was to be repaid. |

Hutchinson owned property in Knox county that she commercially leased to Oscar Dunn and James Carson, whom erected buildings on the property. The lease was sold and conveyed to W. M. Fulton by Dunn and Carson, however Hutchinson was unhappy with the terms of the transfer. She believed that Fulton had created a corporation for the purpose of stripping and selling the commercial property, thereby defrauding Hutchinson. |

Suit sought to recover debt & clarify land ownership. |

Complainants F. C. Bearden and Archie Ferguson did business as Bearden & Ferguson, a firm that dealt in lumber, sash, doors, blinds, and other building materials. The company furnished such for erecting a house on a lot for Gaylon. He contracted the building to one Manis by verbal agreement. Manis never recorded the deed or paid anything on the house, so a real estate company sold the property to Gaylon. Gaylon sub-contracted the masonry to Scott, who eventually asked for a Mechanic's lien. |

Defendant argued that her carrying aggregate insurance of over $7 violated her policy contract with them, & under the terms of the contract they were liable for only the pro rata part. Defendant had paid some of her claims before learning of the other insurance policies. |

Kilter was looking to to pay off the balance for the land and was also seeking the court to state that Mary Cowan could not in the future seek money for the homestead or claim ownership. |

Bessie became ill and died on Oct. 28, 1931 in Knoxville General Hospital. Pla. claims the def., in breach of contract, has refused to payout the said policy. Exhibit materials include correspondence and employment information. Bessie had a 7th grade education and made $0.21 per hour. |
