Sarah McPhatridge, widow of Francis Hodge who died in 1863. Alfred and Sarah McPhatridge tried to see last will and testament but were told they were burned up by a raiding party during the war. Sarah and their infant child were paid $500 each in Confederate money. Sarah dissented the will and seeks: a dower of 1/3 of all Hodge's real estate, including the house, a year's allowance, an 1/8 share of the personal property or its value in money, and the value of the growing crop. |

Hopkins borrowed money from Williams in form of Confederate Treasury Notes, in exchange for promissory notes from Hopkins. When Hopkins tried to repay the Confederate money, Williams refused it, then got judgments against Hopkins on the promissory notes. Hopkins brought this suit, arguing the Confederate money Williams gave him for the promissory notes was not valid consideration, tendering that Confederate money into court. |

Upon deposit of $268.10 by Martin Justice Sr, Blanchard agreed to become bail for Martin Justice Jr (then in sheriff's custody on charge of passing counterfeit money) for limited purpose of ensuring his appearance before justice of the peace. Blanchard then sued with multiple garnishments, some by creditors of Martin Sr, others by creditors of Martin Jr. Blanchard filed this suit for relief from said garnishment suits, paying deposit into court for determination of rights. Bond was issued same day as deed that reserved Crouch's right to construct a water lane running through the lands conveyed to Shepherd. Crouch suing Shepherd for violation of deed and bond when he built the saw mill in place not agreed on--forcing Crouch to build 2 water lanes. Crouch wants full use and enjoyment of water. |

Morgan had filed his bill against Milligan in 1847 in order to divest the title of a tract of land out of Milligan and vest it in himself. Claiming to be judgment credior to Milligan, Morgan had obtained a decree against Milligan in Chancery court for $336 in 1834. A reference to case Joseph Milligan v. Gideon Morgan in ET 676. Rogers obtained decree in 1857 against Milligan, which Milligan wants set aside. He also wants an injunction to stay issuance of writ of possession from other court. |
