City of Clarksville taxpayers sued to enjoin City from issued bonds to pay $100,000 subscription for capital stock of Nashville & Clarksville Railroad (name changed to Tennessee Central Railroad Company). Dispute re election held to vote on City's participation in stock subscription, which railroad proposed in 1901 in order to construct railroad line from Nashville to Clarksville. Pla. claimed various irregularities in election invalidated it. Opinion marked "For publication". |
