Evans was operating a restaurant and found to be in possession of illegal liquor. When the police entered the restaurant, a buzzer was heard in the back and Thompson was observed pouring a liquid into a tub. The bottle holding the liquid smelled like alcohol. Evans is the former owner of the restaurant, having been jailed in Atlanta for some time, and claims he was only there when it was raided to eat. Exhibit material includes search warrants. Restaurant is located at 323 W. 9th St. Chattanooga, TN. |

Weapon also referred to as "Arkansas toothpick." Day was mail carrier who carried mail from Chattanooga depot to post office. Abner Wisdom: Day came to his house, asked him to accompany Day to Sterling's house to; he witnessed Day draw the knife at Sterling's house. Other witnesses testified similarly. |

Fulton owned negro male slave Jack & accused Rail Road of unlawfully converting Jack to its own use. Fulton says railroad, without authority, received Jack on board its passenger cars & carried him on its train from Chattanooga to Atlanta. E. B. Walker, railroad's Master of Transportation, gave Jack's brother (who worked for the railroad in Atlanta) a pass to come to Chattanooga to get Jack, who was seized & sold when he arrived to satisfy debt of his previous owner, Allison Nelson. |
