Evans was operating a restaurant and found to be in possession of illegal liquor. When the police entered the restaurant, a buzzer was heard in the back and Thompson was observed pouring a liquid into a tub. The bottle holding the liquid smelled like alcohol. Evans is the former owner of the restaurant, having been jailed in Atlanta for some time, and claims he was only there when it was raided to eat. Exhibit material includes search warrants. Restaurant is located at 323 W. 9th St. Chattanooga, TN. |

Kidd left the liquor in a hiding place, told the buyer, the buyer took the liquor, leaving payment in the hiding place. Kidd claimed he didn't sell the liquor- he "found it" & gave it away. |

J. W. Wilkerson, the Marshal of Lenoir City asked John Glass to purchase whiskey from the Pla. in error in an attempt to see if he was illegally selling whiskey. Wilkerson succeeded in purchasing the whiskey and received a shipment several days later. Hix argues that Wilkerson made him believe the whiskey was for a sick relative and that he sold it to him out of kindness. Casefile includes a price list for various amounts and types of whiskey. The Whiskey in question was produced by the R. M. Rose Co. |
