Incomplete case file: testimony only. Because only testimony is present, case details are difficult to discern. It seems that Mrs. Addie Prince Harrell had trouble with her eyes, perhaps an astigmatism. She seems to have gotten into an accident, but was not badly harmed. She was diagnosed as neurasthenic. What she claimed to the insurance company is not stated here. Much questioning about glasses and nervous disorder.

View Entry 1923 Lincoln Fire Insurance Company v. Lula Wallace, et al. Shelby Insurance Disputes

Additional defendant: Annie May Rhodes. Lula Wallace and Annie May Rhodes are described in the case as "two colored women." A house belonging to Rhodes and Wallace, located at 64 Apple St. in Memphis, burned on March 27, 1921. They had two insurance policies on the house (Policy numbers 51371 and 68414) for $200 each. The policies were "lapsed" at the time of loss as the last premium was paid on January 31, 1922. (Payments were due within 28 days of last payment to stay current.)
