Tennessee and her husband, James B. Drake, took out life insurance policies naming each other beneficiaries. James died on April 23, 1926 of a protracted illness that affected his heart. Premiums were kept on schedule. After her husband took ill, Ins. Agent M. M. McGaughey attempted to get them to cancel one of the policies. Pltf. kept policies with L. G. Murray, who surrendered docs to said agent who cancelled them. This was not told to pltf until after James' death.
