This is a dispute between Deborah A. Fulton and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. regarding a life insurance policy that Lyman A. Fulton had with the co. He was the husband of Deborah Fulton and he is now deceased. This case is in two folders in new Box # 976

Plaintiff sued to collect benefits plus penalty due under the terms of an insurance policy that was issued to his first cousin, Vivian Watson, and of which he is he beneficiary. Defendant denies any liability on grounds that the insured stated falsely that she was in good health when she applied for the policy & when the policy was delivered, when in fact she was seriously ill at the time.

Dispute over Campbell's entitlement to permanent & total disability benefits under 2 policies Def issued to Campbell less than 2 mos. before injury for which Campbell claims benefits are due. Injury occurred when Campbell was changing wheel on car & jack slipped, causing car to fall on Campbell, injuring his abdomen near appendix. The plaintiff was the wife of Olin D. Farris, dec., who was insured by the defendant. The plaintiff and her husband were African-Americans.

Plaintiff nephew & beneficiary of Claudia Hollins, a policy holder with defendant. She was killed ca. 29 June 1936 while riding in a Cherokee Motor Bus. Defendant paid the $60 death benefit, but refuses to pay the double indemnity stipulated by policy if the insured is killed while riding in any public conveyance. Plaintiff suing to collect the additional benefit plus 25% penalty. Plaintiff & policy holder African American. Bus was chartered by a black church group to carry them to Atlanta, GA & back.

The case stated that "the plaintiffs are in the insurance business and sued the defendants for $130.46 alleged to be due on a brokerage commission on a bond covering the construction of additions to Bradley County and Charleston High Schools."

Dispute over the total loss of plaintiff's home in Mt. Vernon, Tenn. Bowers further claimed that a company agent deceived him into signing a document calling for payment of half the policy value. Springfield [Mass.] Ins. Co. policy sold through Sweetwater Realty Co. Real picture postcard of the bungalow-style house that was destroyed. In 1934, the defendant entered into a contract with Maymead K. Crowe, the plaintiff's daughter, for a policy worth $500 payable to the plaintiff. M. K. Crowe later became completely disabled by a disease while under the policy, later dying in 1937. Due notice of her death was provided for the defendant, but they refused to pay the benefits from the policy to the plaintiff who now files to recover the funds plus 25% statutory penalty.
