Years before this suit Jesse Robinson purchased land in Fentress County from Crouch for $350. All but $71 was paid at the time of purchase. In 1866 Crouch filed a bill against the Robinsons to collect the debt. Robinson was dead by this point and sued his wife and heirs to collect. |

In 1857 Looney sold Samuel Gower or Grover land in Franklin County. Gower executed a promissory note on the sale, however Gower died soon after. There was a small body of land adjacent to the 34 acres but instead of getting a grant they had the original tract of land surveyed in connection with 34 acres and obtained a grant to jointly tenant for entire tract of about 370 acres. |
