Anderson bought property adjacent to Georgia Ave. in Chattanooga. At time of purchase, a fence which abutted sidewalk running along street had been knocked down by trespassers. After he replaced the fence, believing it to be the boundary of the property, he received letter from the city marshal ordering him to move the fence back 9-13 ft. from the sidewalk or it would be torn down. Anderson was seeking to confirm that the property line was at the edge of the sidewalk. |

This case was filed to determine the ownership of a lot of land. Plaintiff purchased land in trust through trustee J. E. McMurphy who died before deed for land was transferred to plaintiff. Plaintiff also alleged that defendant was in possession of land illegally. Additional plaintiffs: William C. McMurphy, next friend of Margaret Greenville. Additional defendants: Charles E.
