Court ruled in favor of Puckett-that the conveyance of the 200 acre tract of land was not intended by the parties as an absolute sale, but was made to indemnify and secure Medley in the debt he had to pay. Medley never paid debt to Puckett. Court divested title of land from Medley into Puckett. Medley was also liable to Puckett for the value of timber cut and removed. 3 folders. |

Anderson bought property adjacent to Georgia Ave. in Chattanooga. At time of purchase, a fence which abutted sidewalk running along street had been knocked down by trespassers. After he replaced the fence, believing it to be the boundary of the property, he received letter from the city marshal ordering him to move the fence back 9-13 ft. from the sidewalk or it would be torn down. Anderson was seeking to confirm that the property line was at the edge of the sidewalk. |
