View Entry | 1914 | Mrs. S. M. Somers v. The Henderson Gin Company | Weakley | Recovery of Land/Property |
Plaintiff was self-described "old woman" who owned County land within few miles of towns of Martin & Sharon, where Def. operated a gin. Through her agent, J.W. Thompson, Somers rented her land to Jesse Burrs, who cultivated cotton on the land. Burrs sub rented the land to the Thedfords, who sold cotton from the land to Def. Burrs didn't pay his rent, so Somers sued Def. because Def. held the cotton derived from the land. |
