View Entry | 1888 | A. Jacobs et al. v. W. F. Pearson et al | Coffee | Land and Title Dispute |
Additional plaintiff: Anna Arnold, widow of John Arnold, who at the time of his death owned a large landed estate. The tract in question was assigned Anna as part of her dower. J. Jacobs, father of plaintiff, bought several tracks from the Arnold estate. Plaintiffs sold a large tract of land to defendant in 1859 for $4896 and gave him title; this bill was filed to enforce plaintiff's lenders lien. Defendant claims he had no title at the time of sale, and that he had paid Arnold $900 & Jacobs $500. |
