View Entry | 1872 | Margaret Suster v. A. S. Burem | Hawkins | Land, Fraud |
The plaintiff inherited a tract of land from her father, David H. Jones (dec.), and later married Spencer Suter, who immediately took possession of it. Soon after, the defendant and one Clinton A. Suter took measures to defraud the plaintiff out of her rights to the land by a deed of conveyance, making her sign it as a minor under 18 years old. Burem later took full possession of the land. Plaintiff's guardian at the time, Jacob Miller, acted in bad faith by advising her to sign the deed. |
