1885: Harris got judgment against Hassel on certain notes; if Hassel didn't pay by certain time, his land would be sold to satisfy same. He didn't pay, so land sold (130 acres, aka Strother Place) to J.T. & J.E. Strother who gave notes for same. Later proceeding (5 pgs added): Sale occurred 20 yrs ago but notes never cancelled; Hon. B.D. Bell gave affidavit that he was then atty for Haughton heirs & that notes were pd. |
