Plaintiff originally found guilty of causing the death of 19-year-old Verdie Seiber by striking her repeatedly during an argument so that she fell down a staircase & struck her head on the concrete. Seiber died of a fractured skull 14 Nov. 1936. Plaintiff & Seiber had been on friendly terms until the argument which was over his seeing another woman.
