Pla. in error is accused of committing manslaughter against Otis Atkerson. Pla. in error was allegedly under the influence of alcohol while operating a vehicle. Atkerson was a passenger when Pla. in error lost control of said vehicle on Brainerd road causing it to crash and ejecting and killing Atkerson.

View Entry 1931 State v. Frank Gillespie Blount Manslaughter, Vehicular

Frank Gillespie, Aaron Myers, and Ed Gillespie were driving under the influence at night, without headlights on, when they ran into and over Robert Anthony, killing him. Myers was found not guilty but Gillespie was convicted and sentenced to 3 years in penitentiary. 2 folders.

View Entry 1931 State v. Clayton Walker Claiborne Manslaughter, Involuntary

Walker (33, sign painter) convicted of involuntary manslaughter, sentence: 1 yr prison. Drove car on Dixie Hwy north of Powell Rivers bridge so as to hit & kill 16-yr old Luther Williams (driving w/brother Bobbie, 20, en route from Middlesboro, KY where they delivered produce. Witnesses: Luther's dad Levi, others. Walker may've been drinking. When appeal called, Walker missing (though sheriff looked for him in Middlesboro & at his brother-in-law's in TN); some said he was in Canada. Appeal dismissed.

Morris was driving his vehicle on the Dyersburg-Bogota Highway and struck and killed Katheline Cook. Ode is also listed as Odie Morris.

Hiller was accused of involuntary manslaughter after recklessly driving an Automobile into another automobile, injuring and killing James Robert Jonakin. Dfnt. was accused of driving in excess of thirty miles an hour. Housed in 2 folders 2 oversize maps showing wreck located in M-17-19.
