Alexander originally charged with murdering his wife, Alva Alexander, on 19 April 1934, by beating her to death with his fists or other weapons. Found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. In appeal, attorney alleges that cause of death was never firmly established, & that the victim had a history of heart trouble worsened by her excessive drinking & a goiter that made it difficult for her to breathe. Alva Alexander also known as Alva Gillam & Alva Rhea.
