The original bill was filed in 1869 by James McAfee, guardian of Eliza and Nancy Collins, et al. In 1860 John Wood was appointed the guardian of Eliza and Nancy, et al., & gave bond. Wood became heavily indebted to the wards, never paying them back. Saw- year fraudulently sold land to his son to prevent it being levied for the debt. Suit was filed by the wards' next guardian in order to recover the debt. |

File incomplete. Brief only. In Feb. 1883 Isaac Smith died, after having made a partial division of his estate among his children & grandchildren. His son, the plaintiff, owed him $300.71; his father required him to give the note to his minor grand- children, Vasco & Ruby Still. The children's parents, Elizabeth & Henry Still, died in April & July 1881, leaving them orphans. James A. O. Still made their guardian. Plaintiff argued that he should be made their guardian & given control of the note. |

Plaintiffs sued and claimed that they were the children of George Graham, who died while serving in Company D, 8th Regiment of Tennessee Volunteers. Moore had been appointed as the Guardian of the Plaintiffs, all of whom were minors when George died. The defendants were to receive pension money as per Pension Certificate #142293, but claimed they had never received any money. They sued for at least $2000. Ross was the surety. |

Nixon, attorney for the U.S. Veterans' Bureau, sued Pritchard, guardian for Hall, Jr., a minor, to require an accounting of the guardian funds of $20 per month from said Veterans' Bureau and to disqualify the mother as guardian. Dispute over use of funds Bureau wanted her to invest money until Hall was of age, and Pritchard believed money was to support child in place of deceased father (WWI veteran). Dispute over whether ante-nuptial allowed step-child to have private income from step-father. |
