Wardlaw was accused of killing Ernest Wiseman. The murder resulted from an incident earlier in the day, when, at a strawberry festival, Wardlaw was pranked by a friend resulting in a Coca-Cola bottle being thrown. The bottle struck Wiseman's car, and the deceased went looking to start trouble with the bottle-thrower. After some warnings to not attack, Warlaw shot Wiseman in self-defense. Housed in 3 folders. |

Hudson was accused of shooting and killing Will Cook. There was an dispute between Cook and Hudson over Hudson's wife. Hudson & his wife had been separated and Cook became involved with a quarrel between the two which made Hudson angry. In the statement of the case written by Pierce & Fry, the attorneys for the defendant, they ask the court to reverse the case because it was "purely a frame-up on the part of the negroes testifying for the State." |
