In 1911, John Wesley, the deceased husband of the defendant, became a member of the Colored Knights of Pythias in Mississippi and received a policy for $600, payable to the defendant. The membership transferred when they moved to Memphis, where the endowment increased $300. Wesley died in 1916 and the plaintiff refused to pay the endowment and a judge ruled in favor of M. Weaver for $300 and the plaintiff filed for this new trial. |
