View Entry 1897 First National Bank v. A. M. Shook et al. Davidson Bank Note

In 1889, J. P. Williams, A. M. Shook, Nat Baxter Jr., and G. M. Fogg (partners) purchased an iron furnace from the Warner's and Mrs. Goodrich, executing four notes signed by each of the partners. When the sellers demanded payment of the note, the defendants borrowed $9,296 from the plaintiff bank. Williams was also vice-president of the bank at the time and illegally instructed a cashier to remove the name of Shook from the note. Exhibit is note issued by parties.
