Plaintiff owned a tract of land for over fifteen years and conveyed and sold the land to Willis B. Sharp, his son-in-law, but he did not pay a consideration for the land. He then sold the land to the defendant. A deal was made to sell the land back to the plaintiff, but the defendant falsified the amount paid to Sharp for the land. Plaintiff sued for $550 difference for the land he bought back.

Add. defendants: D. B. Smith, W. D. Meriweather, R. Lester, & John Lockert. In 1884, the parties entered into a contract for the purchase of a tract of land for $2,200. The plaintiff paid in cash $933 and executed notes to pay the balance over two years. The defendant convinced the plaintiff to give him one of the notes for $300 early and in return he would execute a note of sale for another part of the land and give credit for the funds towards his balance, but he failed to produce the deed.

Malinda Scruggs died 1876, leaving a large farm near Jacksboro. Her husband W. J. Scruggs died about 1882 leaving 5 daughters as heirs. The farm was sold in 1884 to J. C. Hollingsworth to be paid in installments. The pltf. alleges that the husband of one of the daughters purchased an interest in the proceeds from another. This case involves these transactions.

Continuation of Caswell Hall v. David Straley, et al. in box ET 1178. Caswell sued Straley for unpaid notes of $6000 that were used to pay for tracts of land. Caswell believed land was insufficient to pay notes and $1000 interest. Now, Caswell also wants Straley's personal property attached and sold to pay the interest of the notes-in particular 2 slaves, 2 horses, and a carriage.

March 1871, Prior's purchased of Coleman 2 tracts of land in DeKalb County. The plaintiffs claimed that the defendant told them that the land was well adapted for stock raising, good grazing land, a probability for an early extension of the railroad and had a first class institution for learning. The plaintiffs claimed that all this was false except for the grazing.
