In 1903 the General Assembly passed an act redistricting Knox County. The 12 district created differed greatly in size, income, & population. Maxey & J. H. Simpson ran for JP. They claim that the redistricting effected the voting outcome. Powers, J. C. Ford, & J. C. Sterchi were the election commissioners at the time of the election.
