This case was a plea of debt on account.

Defendants are indebted to the plaintiffs for $219.94 with interest from 1930 by an itemized statement of material.

Plaintiff: Decatur Cornice & Roofing Co., a corp. in AL. Defendants: W. C. Terry, W. C. Terry Realty & Trust Co.- a Knox Co. business; Commercial Casualty Ins. Co., a NJ corp. Debt on acct., $1773.10, order of steel fabricated stairs made in Jan. 1929 for renovation @ Terry Apts. (Knoxville?).

George C. Jackson sued J. M. Meek, a stockholder in Chronicle Company and the company Jackson worked for. Jackson claimed the company owned him money on several notes for wages and money loaned to the company.

Plaintiffs H. B. Chaflin & Co. claimed that the defendants, J. B. Hall and B. M. Smith purchased $8650 of goods from them on account which was wholly unpaid. Plaintiffs A. G. Woodruff Co. claimed the defendants owed them $363 dollars. Majority of case (502 of 509 pages) is in ET 1788.

The defendants are indebted to the plaintiffs for $1,500 in goods, which they unjustly detained from them. The original sum was for $2,000 and the defendants paid off part of the sum, but never returned to pay the rest of the account balance.

Debt under $20.00.

Hot Blast Coal Co. and Jesse A. Bland are indebted to the complainant in the sum of $700.08 due on account for work and labor.

Plaintiff kept a running account with the firm of defendants, J. M. Dailey & Co. Defendants were in the business of keeping and maintaining a livery stable. Plaintiff alleged that defendants intentionally placed erroneous charges on his account. Plaintiff also alleged that his mare was injured while being kept in the stable owned and operated by defendants. Additional Defendants: M. E. Thompson, J. M. Dailey

Case relative to a deed of conveyance made among parties in Aug., 1854, and June, 1855. Reference debt on mortgage left from transaction. Defendants: John S. Moffett, Charles Neuffer, D. L. Bronson, M. V. Williams, firm of Neuffer & Hendrix, Charleston, South Carolina.

Debt amount was $71.15. Debt was for mechanical work on a vehicle owned by W. J. Wooton. Ammons initially sued Knoxville Belting & Supply Co. and won the case. This case is the appeal with Knoxville Belting claiming the work was on Wooton's personal vehicle, meaning that Knoxville Belting had no liability.

Additional defendants: Gus Engers, S. H. Johnston, D. M. Taylor and William Sellars of the National Tube Works; $3000 had been levied in the previous months upon the stock and goods of Kurth in his store at No. 158 Gay St, but only $400 has been paid Ex A: list of other cases involving Charles Kurth.

Debt due on account under $500.

This case was filed as an appeal from a previous case where plaintiff in error had a judgment rendered against him in favor of the defendant. Defendant was awarded a judgment of $363.00 for a debt on an account.

Scruggs was clerk for Smith at Mansion House hotel in Knoxville for 4-5 months in mid 1850s & filed suit for wages for services he rendered as clerk. Justice of peace ruled in Scruggs' favor awarding $172.30 for his services. On appeal to Circuit Court, that amount reduced by $125 note Scruggs owed on horse he purchased from R. Thornburgh, who sold the note to Smith for a $70-80 gold watch plus $20 cash. Witnesses included clerks at other local hotels: Lamar House, Bell House.

Ingalls Iron Works Co is a Delaware company that manufactures steel. A.W. Kutsche & Co. are a TN company that were hired to construct a post office in Knox Co. They ordered the steel for the frame from the complainant. Ingalls Iron Works claims that the A.W. Kutsche Co still owes them $7,220.39 on an account for steel.
