Plaintiffs, wholesale merchants in Nashville, sued J.R. Oliver to recover $393.22 balance due on an account for groceries sold by plaintiffs to the firm of Oliver & Bickley. Defendant denies that he was ever a member of firm. Firm composed of R.A. Oliver H.W. Bickley; the former the son of the defendant. J.R. Oliver claimed his connection went no farther than endorsing a note of $300 for his son to raise money to start business. Judge ruled in favor of defendant and plaintiffs appealed. |

Defendants had made a deed of trust to J. M. Crutcher to convey their entire stock of goods to him, which plaintiffs charged was fraudulent. William T. Orr & George M. Jackson also suing defendants for debt on their account to the amount of $50-100. George O'Bryan and Joe O'Bryan suing for $140 debt. |

The plaintiffs made different parts of machinery for the defendants as described in the contract and delivered the product to their offices. The defendants have possessed the product for over a year and made sporadic payments, but still owe the sum of $1,045 plus interest. Suing for the balance and a breach of contract by debt. |
