B. L. James is the father of Minnie James. Plaintiff is sued for debt due from service rendered. Minnie, age 14, was employed at a mill owned and operated by the plaintiff and earned $0.50 per day. Plaintiff claims that the defendant, along with several other girls suddenly and without notice quit and hindered the ability of the mill to continue working. For this reason, they claim, the mill lost more money than what is owed to the defendant and should not have to pay her.
