Jones obtained default judgment against G. W. Patterson as admr of estate of George Patterson, dec (who died w/no will), for amount allegedly owed on store account for goods George bought during his lifetime & for burial clothes purchased after his death. Patterson claimed judgment was erroneous & asked court to retry the case.

Prior to 1916, the defendant was indebted to the plaintiff in excess of $3,000 for goods and merchandise sold by the plaintiff to the defendant, who then executed a promissory note for $460 and the remaining sum would be paid by the transfer of land. The defendant failed to pay the note or file for the transfer of the land.

A lease dispute on properties on 1395 Halbert Ave., Memphis, under an alleged one-year lease contract. Court finds for the plaintiffs, against the defendant in the sum of $395.00. Glascock & Company, Real Estate agents. Plea of debt due by contract for a lease up and including the month of Jan. 1914 by agreement under $500.00. The court decision was appealed to the Court of Civil Appeals, Jackson.

Eulas Jones also listed as a defendant in bill. Plea of debt due on account for pasture and feed of one sow and pigs for a sum of $14. Plaintiff believes the defendants are fraudulently concealing themselves and their property to avoid the debt.

Defendant in error, Duncan McKay, J. H. Frith, and John Langham, claimed that Kincade and Co., which is composed of J. F. Kincade and George W. Kincade, owed them a debt of $150.33 for the purchase of feed and grain from their company.

Additional Plaintiff: S.H. Phillips. The plaintiffs were engaged as wholesale grocers under the name of Shanks, Phillips, and Company. Blackwell was a sheriff in Shelby County.

H.B. Shanks is a grocer in Memphis. He claims that M.L. Clay is indebted to him in the sum of $515.82 on an open account.

Case concerns $12 balance due for medical attention rendered to the wife of defendant Happers.

Officers of the Loeb Co. are Herman Loeb and M. J. Blum. They accuse the Frankles of fraudulently disposing of their property in order to avoid paying their debts.

Morris Fleishman, A. Gingler once partners in "Fleishman & Co.," company insolvent (1886?), debt owed on bonds by defendant Gingler, $350.00 plus costs. Additional complainant: W. N. Doughty. Hon. E. D. Hancock, Chancellor, 7th Chancery Division.

Law Cause No. 9 Complaint of Fidelity Trustee and Receiver Co. for use of Winnebago National Bank in a plea of debt due by account and accepted bill and note under $500.00. Payee promised to sell and deliver to defendant 74 volumes of books. Defendant states he never received books. Appeal case included.

H. R. Chears doing business as Chears Flooring and Screen Company. H. R. Chears entered into a contract with the defendant to furnish hardwood floors for the auditorium, Sunday school room, music room, three class rooms, ladies parlor, pastor's study and to furnish certain material for church building in Jackson, TN. The defendant made a contract with H.R. Chears to pay him $820.00, $200.00 each for the first two weeks. The remainder to be paid upon completion. Defendant still owes $311.98 with interest.

Defendant's company comprised of J.B. O'Bryan & G.G. O'Bryan. Additional plaintiffs listed in file. Add. defendants: J.S. Dollar & D.W. Buchanan. The plaintiffs have sold goods directly to D.W. Buchanan to a debt of $325.54 for goods and previously recovered a judgment against him and the other defendants for the amounts of their debt. The defendants then created a false affidavit stating they were to receive money from the plaintiff per a judgment.

Irvin sued Hill for $22.66 debt on account. Irvin represented the Shenandoah Life Insurance Company and sold Hill an insurance policy of $1000 with a premium of $22.66. Hill never paid him the premium, therefore he sued. Court ruled in plaintiff's favor for $22.66 plus interest. Hill appealed. Exhibit is the insurance policy for Hill through the Shenandoah Life Insurance Co.

Irby Bennett also listed as defendant. Defendant is justly indebted by account to the plaintiff for damage when they wrongfully drove a car owned and operated by I. Bennett beyond a lawful rate of speed. The car struck a horse and injured another horse owned by the plaintiff. Suing for damages in the sum of $400.00. Official COA listed as debt on account.

Hilton, Hughes, & Denning was a wholesale corporation comprised of Henry G. Hilton, Jno. M. Hughes, Edwin J. Denning, Albert B. Hilton, and Frederick Hilton. John Gilgan is a retailer in Nashville, who owes $1,305.76 on his account with the complaintants
