Setliff borrowed about $3,000 from the defendant association in 1889 and in return executed a mortgage deed in trust with John Richardson as trustee. He has paid $3,882 to the Association on the mortgage since but the interest accrued at the time of the late monthly payent was $500. The plaintiff therefore paid an additional $382. The defendant claimed Setliff still owed money and attempted to sell the land in trust. Setliff petitioned for a halt of the sale and accounting. Exhibit is share ledger. |

Henley claims the defendants fraudulently forced her to sign a contract while she was incapacitated during her treatment by the defendants for opium addiction. Add def: N. A. Kemper. Pla. was convicted by the Caldwell (judge in the case) of several misdemeanors and ordered to pay fines and costs. Pla. was unable to make payment and sentenced to the county workhouse. T. A. Sykes, Wm. Perkins, and J. P. Rhines then delivered several notes to satisfy plaintiff’s costs and obtain his release. Def. later brought suit against said notes and received judgement. Pla. complained that he was then unlawfully re-arrested and placed in a workhouse to work off the debt. |

When asked for the money, N. Baxter paid only $500, but refused to execute a note from the remaining sum. The plaintiff filed the bill to compel the defendant to deliver the remaining sum from the judgment. |

Petition of Samuel Watson for the State. Watson gave the Bank a large number of claims due to the Bank in 1872. These claims were for money loaned by John A. Fisher, former cashier during the war and while assets of the bank were within the Confederate lines. Thousands of dollars were loaned, most of which was entirely Confederate money. Watson took charge of the claims and investigated them. He later brought claims against several of those debtors. Watson petitioned to be paid for his services. |
