Issue over a previous judgment for $66.20 that the defendant was ordered to pay the plaintiff. T.J. Myers alleged the plaintiff was guilty of fraud in attempting to hold him liable under terms of a void contract.

View Entry 1883 Lucy Bivens v. William S. Jett et al. Bedford Petition for Injunction

Additional Defendants: Wilthorte Bros. Original bill filed against Duncan F. Jett, Thomas S. Steele and wife Nanny Steele, E. L. Jett, James C. Jett, Mildred Jett, Carrie Jett, and Sallie Jett, heirs of William S. Jett, deceased. William Jett conveyed a tract of land to Bivens for several notes. However, he did not hold clear title. Jett died after passing the notes to others who filed suit for recovery of payment. Bivens filed to have the sale by Jett rescinded and the notes cancelled. See box MT 1123.
