Additional plaintiffs: Aita Neubert, Jessie L. Neubert, L.O. Ghormley and wife Annie. Plaintiffs owned a tract of 300 acres. When tract was owned by A.P. Brown & wife, they leased it to Messer for 1 year as long as oil or gas was mined or produced. Plaintiffs charged def. with failing to perform lease's terms within time stipulated, which had long since expired, making said lease void and a cloud on their title. Additional defendants: A.W. Jones, W.T. Crisswell, J.E. Manley, and N.W. Calcutt. This case involved the repeated selling and shifting ownership of two mules. The Citizens Bank sued to claim ownership and immediate possession of the mules. Plaintiff claims it was the holder of the initial note and held title over the property, and any later titles created are and void.

View Entry 1888 Cumberland & Stones River Turnpike Company v. Wilson County et al Wilson Loss of Property

Add. Defendants: T.E. Watson & J.B. Baird. Issue of a road running from Murfreesboro to Lebanon and then to Hunter's Point on the Cumberland River with toll gates never being officially declared a public road, despite having been used and tolls collected for 50 years prior. Plaintiff filed bill after Baird told the company the road was now designated a shun pike and was going to have it laid off without due notice, which also damaged the road and tolls. Suing to protect the road and rights to Plaintiff.

Plaintiff was the admr of Carter Adcock, dec. for the purpose of selling real estate to pay debts. Plaintiff filed this case to gain approval to sell property of the deceased. Property in question was 174 acres and lied partly in Davidson County and partly in Robertson County. Additional Defendants: Franklin Adcock, William Adcock, Riley Adcock, John Adcock, Collins Adcock, Nancy Barnes, Luther Barnes, Elizabeth Cooper, Mary Smiley, David Smiley.

Case of misunderstanding the nature of collateral given. Mr. W.A. Willingham accepted a promissory note he thought was secured by machinery. Machinery was repossessed & possibly damaged, & resold. Case seeks to recover the machinery, & settle ownership. The third parties said they owned the machinery outright and were not part of any settlement or equity disputes. These two cases were consolidated. This case concerns the sale of land of the estate of Joshua Miller of which R. H. Young, the debter of Wolford & James & Jones was the owner. Both parties claim fraud by writ of attachment. Thomas Miller, exe. of Joshua Miller procured the sale of a tract of land of the estate of his testor, under decree of Chancery Court at the sale Young was the purchaser at $1000.

Other plaintiff: James S. F. Thomas. The Thomas's are brothers who were willed some land and later sold it to Northcrop, who subdivided it and sold it to a number of buyers (the other defendants). However, Northcrop was not able to pay the Thomas's because the people he sold the property to did not pay him. The brothers are seeking to have the land returned to them in lieu of some subsequent payment.
