One of Chesney's horses was taken by federal soldiers when they captured several confederate soldiers, some of which were supposedly of John H. Morgan's men. The horse was found in Claiborne County, being held by Bluford Venable, so that it might be returned to Rodgers, who claimed ownership. The case sought to settle true ownership of the horse. |
