This left plaintiff unable to give security & comply with rule of court, which ruled in favor of defendants. Plaintiff appealed to Supreme Court. |

Thomas Trim had 3 children under age of 15; his brother Charles a schoolteacher in AR, took them to live with their grandfather in AL. Thomas Trim's widow in asylum, alleged to have history of mental illness. |

Plaintiff brought suit to replace 1/2 tobacco crop, the other half being owned by African American workers. The crop was levied by Def. to settle debt for Mattie Collins, owner of the land yet contractually she had no claim to the crop. Defense moved to dismiss as plaintiff only lost 1/2 a crop. |

Morris claimed Napier wrongly seized Morris' 6-7 year old "crumply horned cow". Morris says Napier came to him, said he was going to move away & wanted to sell Morris his cow. At the time, Napier owed Morris money. Morris agreed to buy the cow but keep it where it was. A few weeks later, Napier told Morris he had decided not to move, as Mr. Bayne was going to start up his cement works (so Napier could get work there) & he wanted his cow back. Morris agreed only if Napier paid his debt. This lawsuit ensued. |

Brasier sued Dickerson for unlawfully detaining 1 17-yr old bay horse, which Dickerson bought from Loving (now dec.) in return for Dickerson building 400 yds. of rock fence within specified timeframe. After Loving died, Brasier extended timeframe but brought suit before extended timeframe had expired. Court ruled in favor of Brasier; SC reversed. B.F. Roberson was security for Brasier. |
