Holder sued to enjoin creation of proposed road through his land, arguing it was never maintained as a public road, but served only as "a settlement passway around the plantation" that was "cut out to get rid of the shade on the field and fence." Proposed road was near a mountain. Holder had worked as a road hand, though not on road in question. Baker was road commissioner. Add. Def: Jefferson Holder (overseer of proposed road). |
