Anderson charged with assaulting Anderson Walker and robbed: 1 gun, one shot pouch), 2 boxes of caps, 1 powder horn, & 3 pounds of powder belonging to David C. Walker. Jury found Anderson guilty and sentence him to 5 years of hard labor in the pentitentiary. The defendant appealed. Anderson later did not show up in court and was fined $1000.

View Entry 1866 State v James Brotherton & David Boyer Cocke Robbery

Dec. 4th 1861, defendants were said to have committed robbery in taking a gun. Witness Conrad Eisenhower stated that the defendants, in a rough crowd, came to his home at night and woke him. The defendants, armed, entered plaintiffs home & warmed by fire. Then one J. Parks said they were out taking Union men's guns & they had come for his. Plaintiff gave up his gun, worth $50, fearing bodily harm. After the war, Parks paid plaintiff for gun, avoiding prosecution. Circuit Ct. sentenced defendants to 5 yrs.

Till Gentry assaulted & robbed Howard Justus for $29.00. Testimony: Clyde Dotson, Arlie Jarnigan, Ike Johnson, Charlie Ottinger, Creed Rollins, R. W. Smith, Hughie Smith, Stafford Gentry, Lawrence Burgess, Jesse Dover, Carl Hall, Titus Smith, and C. D. Fisher. Till Gentry was convicted to 5-7 years hard labor and "rendered infamous."
