Other people mentioned as defendants are A.P. Burdett and Channing (?) Richards. The defendants are commissioners in Memphis and a new law passed that stated each person each month was to report the amount of money received or passed through their hands as rewards, etc. They were to file with the mayor of Memphis a statement under oath. Allegedly these men are not complying with the new law. Beaumont is in control of the books and will not give his information. |
