Plaintiff was a confederate soldier in the Civil War, at which time he was ordered to get a horse from a certain home. After the war, plaintiff was charged with being a horse thief and required to submit a note for the repayment of the horse. Plaintiff later discovered defendant to be in possession of stolen horse and demanded that horse be returned to him, so that he could return it to the owner. Plaintiff also requested the note be deemed and void since he found the horse and planned to return it |

Setliff borrowed about $3,000 from the defendant association in 1889 and in return executed a mortgage deed in trust with John Richardson as trustee. He has paid $3,882 to the Association on the mortgage since but the interest accrued at the time of the late monthly payent was $500. The plaintiff therefore paid an additional $382. The defendant claimed Setliff still owed money and attempted to sell the land in trust. Setliff petitioned for a halt of the sale and accounting. Exhibit is share ledger. |

Bailey (dec. husband of Maria L.) transferred to Enoch Brown, which they claimed was misappropriated and against the trust deed of the estate. Plaintiffs requested the return of land conveyed by the note and debt on note. |

Plaintiff railway company sued Johnson City for attempting to assess a tax increase on the railway for 1888. The railway claimed it paid its taxes of 53/100 of a mile upon a valuation of $20,500/mile for 1887 and attempted to pay them at the same rate for 1888 but the City refused and demanded 97/100 of a mile on the valuation. The railway claimed this was an unlawful attempt to tax their company. |

Plaintiff Watkins claimed that W. H. Stone failed to pay the entirety of a judgement rendered against Stone in favor of the plaintiff for about $30. Watkins claimed the defendant, through fraud, got the plaintiff to sign the receipt for the entire amount of the judgement and processed it with the Justice of the Peace. However, Watkins asserted that the defendant only gave him $5 and told him he had to sign the receipt before he would receive the rest of the money the following week, which he never did. |

She did halt her divorce but her husband attempted to convey the land secretly to another, who tried to sell it to the railroad. The plaintiff sought return of possession and damages and rents for the period when it was occupied. |

The plaintiff filed the bill to compel the defendant to deliver the remaining sum from the judgment. |
